It’s time for me to start catching up with some recent photo sessions on the blog! To kick things off, I wanted to post a collage of photos from a recent session with the Griffin family. I photographed their youngest son, Ben, over the summer and it was fun to have the opportunity to meet the other boys during the family session. Hope you enjoy!

I really love taking photos of kids. In fact, I wouldn’t mind doing family and children’s photography exclusively someday. Don’t get me wrong, I also LOVE shooting weddings & seniors, and I also really miss my job in photojournalism, but there is something especially rewarding about children’s portraiture for me. I don’t even have any kids of my own yet, so I can only imagine that when I do have my first that my appreciation for this field is going to grow.

Back to the real point of this post, which is to show you some of the beautiful images from Delanie’s portrait session. It was so fun getting to know Delanie during our session, she has a sparkling personality that really glowed through in the photographs. Of course, I couldn’t choose just one to post!

Many times when new clients call to inquire about senior portraits, they will ask if their son or daughter can have their car in the pictures, or their favorite family pet, or in Adam’s case, a tractor! The answer is almost invariably yes! It is my goal to create images that show all the individuality, creativity, and spirit of the senior, and including their favorite things in our session is a great way to help ensure that.

Below are a few shots from Adam’s senior session, as you can see, his 4-wheeler and tractor became a part of our shoot–what fun!

Below are a few of the images from a recent senior portrait shoot in Ross County with Tyler. I don’t think many guys in high school love having their photo taken, but Tyler was a real trooper and he did a great job following my direction. His pictures came out great, and sessions like this just remind me how much I love shooting seniors!

Wow, I’m not sure how I’ve been so lucky in photographing the absolute cutest children this fall, but Jaelyn is another prime example of this trend. Some of her photographs turned out so adorable that they really look like they belong on the pages of a children’s fashion magazine! Following are just a few of my favorite images from our session, it was so hard to choose just a few!

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard that in the past few months. It seems like the senior portrait clients who gravitate toward Catapult Photography are always so full of personality and spirit, which works out great for me because they are also usually very open to being creative!

It is such a neat feeling to receive calls from new clients who are so excited to book their sessions because their son or daughter found my site and requested that I be their photographer! I love my job!

Well, I am finally wrapping up a busy month of portraits. The weather has been beautiful this October for outdoor sessions, and I hope that the weather can hold out for another few weeks for my upcoming clients. I just wanted to take a break from editing for a moment to post some images from the Gawelek’s family session!

I am so excited to post just a few of the beautiful images that I captured at Mary and Kevin’s wedding in September. Mary and Kevin were married at the Milestone Lodge in Chillicothe, Ohio, which happens to be located just a few short miles from my home.

When potential clients call or email me to inquire about my “just the kids” portrait sessions, I always take a moment to try and explain my philosophy and style so that they know what to expect from both the portrait session, and their delivered images. When it comes to portraits of children, it’s all about the two P’s. What are the two P’s? Patience, and Playing! Catapult Photography photo sessions operate at a leisurely pace, allowing your child time to relax and explore. We’re hoping to capture not only beautiful images, but emotional snapshots to document a specific moment in the life of your child.

While I’m talking about children’s portraiture, I will post a couple of images from Kylie’s recent photo session. Kylie is so full of spirit that capturing those memorable images was a breeze. What a doll!

I took Misst’s senior portraits recently in Columbus, Ohio. We shot the photos in the German Village area, and in the beautiful Schiller Park. Misst has such a warm personality that taking her portraits was a breeze, and fun, too! Below are a few photos from our recent session:

On Sunday I photographed Lacie & Keith’s beautiful wedding, and have been working feverishly to edit several wedding and portrait shoots over the past few days. Expect many more photos soon!
