I am so excited to post just a few of the beautiful images that I captured at Mary and Kevin’s wedding in September. Mary and Kevin were married at the Milestone Lodge in Chillicothe, Ohio, which happens to be located just a few short miles from my home.

When potential clients call or email me to inquire about my “just the kids” portrait sessions, I always take a moment to try and explain my philosophy and style so that they know what to expect from both the portrait session, and their delivered images. When it comes to portraits of children, it’s all about the two P’s. What are the two P’s? Patience, and Playing! Catapult Photography photo sessions operate at a leisurely pace, allowing your child time to relax and explore. We’re hoping to capture not only beautiful images, but emotional snapshots to document a specific moment in the life of your child.

While I’m talking about children’s portraiture, I will post a couple of images from Kylie’s recent photo session. Kylie is so full of spirit that capturing those memorable images was a breeze. What a doll!

I took Misst’s senior portraits recently in Columbus, Ohio. We shot the photos in the German Village area, and in the beautiful Schiller Park. Misst has such a warm personality that taking her portraits was a breeze, and fun, too! Below are a few photos from our recent session:

On Sunday I photographed Lacie & Keith’s beautiful wedding, and have been working feverishly to edit several wedding and portrait shoots over the past few days. Expect many more photos soon!

Wow, I am seriously behind in my blogging. I need to get caught up now, because there are so many portrait shoots and weddings to blog about for October!

Following are some of my favorite shots from a recent session with the Taylor family. The primary goal of the session was to capture some memorable shots to celebrate Ryan’s 1st birthday, but there were so many great shots of the family as well that I wanted to share some of those too.

Ryan has such big, beautiful eyes, he was just a darling! Hope you enjoy the photos.

After becoming completely fed up with trying to organize and run my photography business by keeping paper files and using Google Calendar alone, I began looking online for a good business management solution geared toward photographers and photography studios. There must be something out there like that, right? Well, the answer is–right! I found this great online software called Tave Studio Manager that has really helped me become so much more efficient with the paperwork and scheduling side of my business. Plus, I didn’t have to totally scrap my beloved Google Calendar, because Tave lets me subscribe to my calendar. Anyway, long story short, I know that I have a few photographers reading my blog, so be sure to check out Tave Studio Manager and explore their site to see all of the great tools included in the software. Oh, and check this out! After writing about my great experience with Tave in a photographer’s forum recently, I was asked to give a brief testimonial about the product. I just noticed that I am now featured on their main page! How cool!

We stop your regularly scheduled blogging to post this…

Yep, that’s my hand! I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago, but on September 19th Zach proposed, and I said yes, of course! Shortly after we left for our weekend trip to Lake Erie, and had a wonderful time celebrating the engagement. I took the picture above on the lake, with my little point and shoot camera. Not the most spectacular image, but certainly a spectacular moment.

I have been talking about the new site and blog that have been in the works for some time now, and I am pleased to say that we’re almost there! As you can see, the blog has been updated, and features the absolutely incredible new logo created by the amazing Eva Talley. I have been so incredibly busy with portrait shoots, weddings, and editing, that I just couldn’t seem to translate my the look/feel that I was hoping for into any of my own logo drafts. Hiring a professional was the best decision that I have made in a while. I asked her to give me a logo that was crisp, fresh, and delicious–how fitting that she incorporated an apple (and in my favorite color too.)

The blog isn’t the only thing that is changing, I will be launching the brand new Catapult Photography web site soon, and shortly thereafter, the new boutique and client proofing area. Yes, I said boutique!

I hope to have most of the new elements rolled out in the coming week, however, my primary focus again is on shooting and editing, and boy oh boy, do I have a jam packed October ahead of me. So many new people to meet, and so many memories to capture. I hope mother nature works with me on the weather this month.

So, I am finally getting around to posting some of the images from Mike & Clista’s beautiful wedding in July. The wedding and reception were held at Deer Creek Resort and Conference Center in Deer Creek State Park, Ohio. The wedding ceremony took place near the lake, in front of a beautiful white gazebo which was draped with red roses. It was truly a beautiful wedding, and a wonderful experience for me! Hope you enjoy the sampling of images from the day, I will post more soon!

Well, I know that it probably seems like I haven’t updated this blog in forever, and that’s because I haven’t! It’s not for lack of action around Catapult Photography, in fact, I’ve just been so busy that I’ve overlooked this important part of the business for a few weeks. Hold your horses, though, because everything will be pretty and new within a few weeks with the launch of the new site and maybe even a new blog.

I am finally getting around to posting some of the beautiful images from Ben’s recent’ portrait shoot! Ben and his mom joined me in Yoctangee park recently for this shoot, and we had fun playing with sticks, flowers, and of course chasing ducks!
