While most of my business comes in the form of family portraits, children, babies, seniors, and weddings, I also occasionally shoot professional headshots for actors. Free flowing lifestyle portrait sessions are a great creative alternative for actors looking for headshots that really spotlight their personality. I had a great time shooting Elizabeth, and I am looking forward to seeing where her new career path will take her!

As usual, I am so busy with the shooting and editing side of the business that I have neglected to post all of the wonderful session images captured over the past few months. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are a few shots of Adie’s senior session which was shot on one of the last sunny days of the fall season. This session was shot at her family home near Grove City, Ohio. The property and house were just perfect for the mood that I was trying to capture!

Boy oh boy, am I behind! I have several sessions to post, starting with Valerie and Billy’s engagement session photos! Valerie and Billy really wanted to do their session in the snow, and while it wasn’t the snowiest day of the winter, we did luck out by having a little bit of the white stuff on the ground at least. Our shoot took place on a very cold and windy day, but I think you can see that the warmth of their connection still managed to show through beautifully!
I am looking forward to shooting Valerie and Billy’s wedding in October!

Someone really needs to smack me on the fingers for not blogging these beautiful sessions much sooner. Following are some of the amazing moments captured and Keith and Lacie’s beautiful wedding from October. They were married on the most gorgeous autumn day, probably the last really beautiful day of the fall last year. Perfect timing!
Also, just a note to my potential wedding clients out there, my spring/summer 2009 is getting extremely full at this time, so please contact me soon if you would like to book your special day!

Sometimes everything just comes together in a shoot. The people, the clothing choices, the setting, the weather, and the atmosphere of this shoot with Jaclyn and Seth were just absolutely perfect. We shot on a rather cold day, but these two are just so in love that their warmth really glowed through in their pictures.
We shot most of the session at the Chillicothe Country Club, and wow, what a beautiful setting this turned out to be. In fact, this particular shot recently made Flickr.com’s Explore page, and has received quite a bit of attention since.
Thanks to Seth & Jaclyn for a great shoot, I’m really looking forward to your wedding in May!

I hope that those of you in the Chillicothe area have been enjoying the beautiful snow today! Luckily we just purchased a new 4-wheel-drive vehicle just in time for the winter weather, so we no longer have to worry about getting stuck in our driveway! We got a beautiful white Dodge Durango, and my Catapult Photography logo is going to look awesome on the back glass!
I also need to post a few images from a recent session with the adorable Carter & Casey! I am still working on getting caught up with my session blogging, I’m getting there! Hope you enjoy the images!

Moving right along with the session posts, I present the completely adorable Ethan! These photos were taken at Ethan’s home in downtown Circleville, Ohio. I have photographed so many cute kids this season, and I have even more in my queue that I will be posting in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. As for now, check out a few of my favorite images from Ethan’s session!

It’s time for me to start catching up with some recent photo sessions on the blog! To kick things off, I wanted to post a collage of photos from a recent session with the Griffin family. I photographed their youngest son, Ben, over the summer and it was fun to have the opportunity to meet the other boys during the family session. Hope you enjoy!

I really love taking photos of kids. In fact, I wouldn’t mind doing family and children’s photography exclusively someday. Don’t get me wrong, I also LOVE shooting weddings & seniors, and I also really miss my job in photojournalism, but there is something especially rewarding about children’s portraiture for me. I don’t even have any kids of my own yet, so I can only imagine that when I do have my first that my appreciation for this field is going to grow.
Back to the real point of this post, which is to show you some of the beautiful images from Delanie’s portrait session. It was so fun getting to know Delanie during our session, she has a sparkling personality that really glowed through in the photographs. Of course, I couldn’t choose just one to post!

Many times when new clients call to inquire about senior portraits, they will ask if their son or daughter can have their car in the pictures, or their favorite family pet, or in Adam’s case, a tractor! The answer is almost invariably yes! It is my goal to create images that show all the individuality, creativity, and spirit of the senior, and including their favorite things in our session is a great way to help ensure that.
Below are a few shots from Adam’s senior session, as you can see, his 4-wheeler and tractor became a part of our shoot–what fun!
