Carter & Casey: Children’s Portraiture | Chillicothe, Ohio
December 7, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids

I hope that those of you in the Chillicothe area have been enjoying the beautiful snow today! Luckily we just purchased a new 4-wheel-drive vehicle just in time for the winter weather, so we no longer have to worry about getting stuck in our driveway! We got a beautiful white Dodge Durango, and my Catapult Photography logo is going to look awesome on the back glass! :)

I also need to post a few images from a recent session with the adorable Carter & Casey! I am still working on getting caught up with my session blogging, I’m getting there! Hope you enjoy the images!

Delanie: Creative Portrait Photography in Ohio
November 12, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids

I really love taking photos of kids. In fact, I wouldn’t mind doing family and children’s photography exclusively someday. Don’t get me wrong, I also LOVE shooting weddings & seniors, and I also really miss my job in photojournalism, but there is something especially rewarding about children’s portraiture for me. I don’t even have any kids of my own yet, so I can only imagine that when I do have my first that my appreciation for this field is going to grow.

Back to the real point of this post, which is to show you some of the beautiful images from Delanie’s portrait session. It was so fun getting to know Delanie during our session, she has a sparkling personality that really glowed through in the photographs. Of course, I couldn’t choose just one to post!

Jaelyn’s Portrait Session in Chillicothe, Ohio
October 30, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids

Wow, I’m not sure how I’ve been so lucky in photographing the absolute cutest children this fall, but Jaelyn is another prime example of this trend. Some of her photographs turned out so adorable that they really look like they belong on the pages of a children’s fashion magazine! Following are just a few of my favorite images from our session, it was so hard to choose just a few!

More autumn portraits!
October 28, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids, Families

Well, I am finally wrapping up a busy month of portraits. The weather has been beautiful this October for outdoor sessions, and I hope that the weather can hold out for another few weeks for my upcoming clients. I just wanted to take a break from editing for a moment to post some images from the Gawelek’s family session!

Unique Children’s Portraiture
October 13, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids

When potential clients call or email me to inquire about my “just the kids” portrait sessions, I always take a moment to try and explain my philosophy and style so that they know what to expect from both the portrait session, and their delivered images. When it comes to portraits of children, it’s all about the two P’s. What are the two P’s? Patience, and Playing! Catapult Photography photo sessions operate at a leisurely pace, allowing your child time to relax and explore. We’re hoping to capture not only beautiful images, but emotional snapshots to document a specific moment in the life of your child.

While I’m talking about children’s portraiture, I will post a couple of images from Kylie’s recent photo session. Kylie is so full of spirit that capturing those memorable images was a breeze. What a doll!

Taylor family portraits: Chillicothe, Ohio
October 3, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids, Families

Wow, I am seriously behind in my blogging. I need to get caught up now, because there are so many portrait shoots and weddings to blog about for October!

Following are some of my favorite shots from a recent session with the Taylor family. The primary goal of the session was to capture some memorable shots to celebrate Ryan’s 1st birthday, but there were so many great shots of the family as well that I wanted to share some of those too.

Ryan has such big, beautiful eyes, he was just a darling! Hope you enjoy the photos. :)

Ben is 2!
August 8, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids

I am finally getting around to posting some of the beautiful images from Ben’s recent’ portrait shoot! Ben and his mom joined me in Yoctangee park recently for this shoot, and we had fun playing with sticks, flowers, and of course chasing ducks! Hope you enjoy seeing a couple of samples, they all turned out so vibrant and striking!

Addison at Five Months
June 26, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids

I’ve photographed baby Addison three times now. Once, in her mama’s belly, once at about a month old, and now at five months. It’s so amazing to see how much she has changed through her photos as she continues to grow and blossom. She is such a sweetheart!

I have been busy, busy, busy shooting and editing photos this week. Outside of the business, I have been occupied with my dog Sasha who I took in for her spay this week. She has been in a lot of pain for the past couple of days, but has perked up quite a bit today. I even had to scream “NO!” at her several times this afternoon, which is a good sign that she is getting back to her rotten self. :)

Julie, Landry, and Gehrig
June 9, 2008 | Filed in: Bellies, Babies, & Kids, Families

A couple of weeks ago I met up with my first cousin, Julie, and her beautiful twins Landry and Gehrig for a portrait session. It was my first time meeting the babies, so I felt lucky to be able to experience their unique little personalities for the first time from behind the lens. I hope to have the opportunity to photograph them in the future as they continue to grow and change; they are truly adorable.
